Jeremy Faludi, Ph.D., LEED AP BD+C, is a sustainable design strategist and researcher. He is an assistant professor of design engineering at TU Delft, and is adjunct faculty of engineering at Dartmouth College. In the past, he has taught at Stanford University, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and elsewhere. He authored VentureWell’s Tools for Design and Sustainability, co-authored the Autodesk Sustainability Workshop and Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute’s online education, and was lead author of the OECD’s policy recommendations for sustainable additive manufacturing (green 3D printing).
He designed the prototype of AskNature.org for the Biomimicry Institute, and founded the website Street Nature Score to quantify and encourage urban nature. He was sustainability research manager for Project FROG, and co-created the Design Intent Tool for Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. A bicycle he helped design appeared in the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum 2007 exhibit “Design for the Other 90%”.
In addition to his design work, he has published several academic journal articles and contributed to six books on sustainable design, including Worldchanging: A User’s Guide for the 21st Century by Alex Steffen, The Next Production Revolution: Implications for Governments and Business by the OECD, Packaging Sustainability by Wendy Jedlicka, and Eco-labels: Concerns and Experiences by Asha B. Joshi. He wrote over 200 articles for Worldchanging.com, and has been quoted or featured in the Wall Street Journal, 60 Minutes, San Francisco Chronicle, Fast Company, Wired, Salon, BoingBoing, C|Net, KPFA radio, GreenBiz, Estadão, Epoca Negócios, and Australian Broadcast Corporation radio, among many others.
Jeremy is available for lectures and workshops on sustainable design and biomimicry; he has done so for over 80 conferences, universities, and businesses around the world, including Google, The Gap, Steelcase, The North Face, Mattel, Arup, SustainableBrands, GreenBiz VERGE, American Society of Mechanical Engineers IDETC, SETAC, Ellen MacArthur CE100, and more.
